About Gorey Chamber
With the launch of Gorey Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2001 the Business Community of North Wexford was given a firm commitment that their voice will be heard.
This voice will be all the stronger if the business sector of North Wexford can develop links through the membership of the Chamber and speak as one.
Areas of common interest have been and will continue to be addressed at town, county, regional and international levels which will hopefully lead to firm improvements.
G.C.I.C. is strongly committed to developing meaningful links within the business sector and hopes, amongst other things, to develop models of good practice. This can be achieved through training initiatives and the encouragement of networking between different strands of the business sector.
The Chamber is keen to continue developing links within the wider community and fully supports the work of a variety of community organisations including, Tidy Towns, Gorey Adhoc Community Facilities etc.
- Lobbying
As part of our ongoing work we have attempted to get our views and plans on the Local and National Political agenda. With this in mind the Chamber has held meetings with County Manager Eddie Breen and contacted all Co Wexford General Election Candidates urging them to sign up to our plan “Harnessing the Potential of North Wexford”
Crime Prevention Proposals
Gorey Chamber recently co-ordinated the successful launch of ‘Business Watch’, in close conjunction with Gorey Gardai. ‘Business Watch’ is a joint business effort to combat crime with member businesses working with each other and the Gardai to ensure that any suspicious criminal activity is quickly communicated to others and escalated to the Gardai.
Why a Chamber of Industry and Commerce?
The major challenge facing Gorey is infrastructural development.
In order for Gorey and it's surrounding areas to prosper we must have
a clear vision for local economic development, be able to sustain
lobbying campaigns on behalf of business and continue to grow Gorey
Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) itself.
Our mission:
"To make Gorey a better place . . . to do business."
