The monthly Chamber lunch was held on Tuesday the 12^th of June with Maura O’Donnell of Bia Blasta hosting the lunchtime event at the 64. Having recently taken over the food franchise at Sean Doyle’s  64 Public House this provided an opportunity for Maura and her team to showcase their work and no one was disappointed.

With the work of the day consisting of some serious networking the Ten Second Intro provided an opportunity for business people to tell us who they are, where they are based and what they do.

The members monthly draw was won by Anne Colgan of The Haven Group who has been fortunate enough to win for the second month in a row, her name was drawn out by James Pierce from April Ireland who on the afternoon was our newest member attending.

Our PLUS section saw a lively debate over future plans for Gorey Garda Station with any question of it being down graded to be strongly resisted. This was considered to be not just a business matter but also one for all residents. Action was agreed that our Politicians , national and local be strongly pressed to ensure that the current Garda service in North Wexford be at least retained, while it was also agreed to contact the upper echelons of the Gardai to make our case.

PLUS also included, an invitation to all members to review the Draft County Development Plan 2013-2019 which has just gone on public display. Members were asked to take the time to review the Plan which can be viewed on www.wexford.ie or drop into Civic Offices on the Avenue to review a hardcopy. Any Comments in relation to the Plan can be sent directly to the Chamber office which will form part of our submission. Final submissions must be made by the 20^th of August to Wexford County Council so we do need your comments by the 6^th of August to be included in our own piece of work.

The opportunity was also taken to announce the winner of the Outstanding Staff Member Award, Deirdre Waldron of Dees Lingerie on Esmonde St and review the Calendar of Events for the remainder of the year.
