After Hours - Retail Security

Sergeant Paddy Carley, Crime Prevention Officer with Wicklow/Wexford Division of An Garda Siochana, treated retail members to an insightful but straightforward overview of retail security issues in the Ashdown Park Hotel. This is Paddy's third presentation to Chamber Members and, as always, those present got some very useful advice relating to premises security, shop lifting and other forms of robbery and issues relating to powers of arrest and detention by retailers and their staff. Members of the Chamber are reminded that Sergeant Carley has again offered to undertake one to one security reviews with Gorey retailers without charge. After Hours- New Credit Union Throws Open its Doors.

Pat Derwin, Gorey Credit Union Manager hosted Chamber Members at the recently opened new Credit Union premises on Mc Dermott Street. All members were treated to a tour of the new facilities offered in the million Euro development and rounded off the evening with a talk on business finance. Many participants found the evening informative and beneficial , as it provided an opportunity to discuss finance options in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere

After Hours – Speed Networking

22nd February 2008.

Gorey Chamber was delighted to join forces with Chambers in Wexford , Enniscorthy and New Ross to host the first Speed Networking event in the county. Held in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford on Friday the 22nd February in excess of 90 individual business’s availed of the opportunity to present themselves to a new range of business links and contacts. With a set programme, including introductions and business outline, running to a set time scale participants had the opportunity to “sell” their business. Members from Gorey who attended expressed their delight at the venture and the hope is to have a further similar event in the future.
